Generation 2
Following the successful modernisation of the DPM72-AV - which is currently transitioning to the DPM72-AV2 - the remaining Digalox® models have now been optimised as well.
The models are not receiving new designations; instead, a "2" is being added to their names:
| DPM72-AVP | → | DPM72-AVP2 |
| DPM72-PP | → | DPM72-PP2 |
| DPM72-MP | → | DPM72-MP2 |
| DPM72-MP+ | → | DPM72-MP2+ |
| DPM72-MPN | → | DPM72-MPN2 |
| DPM72-MPN+ | → | DPM72-MPN2+ |
| DPM72-MPP | → | DPM72-MPP2 |
| DPM72-MPPA | → | DPM72-MPPA2 |
| DPM72-MPPV | → | DPM72-MPPV2 |

With the elimination of DIP switches, the DPM72-AVP2, -PP2, -MP2, and -MPN2 measuring instruments can now be configured easily via the USB interface.
Relocating the pin header a few centimeters higher up on the device means that, depending on the application, a slightly longer cable might be required to connect the measuring instruments.
All connectors (input as well as output) are now easily detachable, allowing for simple replacement - for example, within a control cabinet - since they no longer require laborious screw connections.
In general, the insulation on all Digalox® models has been upgraded, significantly enhancing device safety by drastically reducing the risk of electric shock from touching the pin header during operation.
Availability
All measuring devices will enter a two-year transition phase starting October 1, 2026. Both versions of all models will remain available until September 30, 2028, giving our customers sufficient time to make any necessary adjustments.
The transition phase concludes on October 1, 2028; sales of the "old" measuring instruments will cease (with the exception of any remaining stock), and only the new generation will remain on the market.
